SMS Terms & Conditions
Last updated: January 2026
These terms apply to text messages sent by Epic Medical Centers to patients and prospective patients who have opted in.
Program description
Epic Medical Centers sends care-related text messages, including appointment confirmations, reminders, scheduling changes, intake follow-ups, and responses to questions you send us. We do not send unrelated third-party advertising.
How you opt in
- Checking the consent box on our online intake form.
- Providing your mobile number to clinic staff and agreeing to text communication.
- Texting our published number first.
Message frequency and cost
Message frequency varies based on your appointments and your replies. Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier plan. Epic Medical Centers does not charge for text messages.
How to opt out
Reply STOP to any message to end all messages. You will receive one confirmation message and then no further texts. To rejoin, reply START or ask clinic staff to re-enroll you. Opting out of texts does not cancel your appointments or affect your care; we will contact you by phone instead.
Help
Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or call the clinic directly. Support is available during normal business hours.
Carriers and delivery
Supported carriers include major U.S. wireless providers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is not guaranteed, so never rely on text messaging for urgent or emergency needs. Call 911 in an emergency.
Privacy of mobile consent
Mobile opt-in data and consent records are not shared or sold to third parties for marketing purposes. Message content is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and, where applicable, HIPAA.
Eligibility and changes
You must be 18 or older, or have parental or guardian consent, and must be the account holder or authorized user of the mobile number you provide. We may update these terms; continued participation after an update constitutes acceptance.
